Terms of use

In short: we are a small team writing about the topic, not a government body, a news agency or a law firm.

About these terms

By using the site you accept the terms on this page. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

SVI Fokus is run by Banimo AB. Who we are, how to reach us and our full company details are on the about SVI Fokus page.

What we are not

This is the most important part of these terms. Read it even if you skip the rest.

  • We are not a government body. We have no remit from the state and no part in any decision.
  • We are not a news agency and we are not journalists. We do no original news reporting and hold no Swedish publishing licence (utgivningsbevis).
  • We are not lawyers or migration law representatives. We give no legal advice.
  • We are not an agent. We cannot represent you, file an application for you or speak to an authority about your case.
  • We sell no test slots, no applications and no services tied to your case.

What you read here is general information. It is not an answer about your own situation. Two people with similar backgrounds can get different decisions, and only whoever handles your case can tell you what applies to you.

Use the site to understand the system. Go to the authority, or to a lawyer, for an answer in your own case.

How we work on the content

We write from public sources: legislation, government bills, official inquiries and what the authorities publish themselves. Every article ends with the sources it rests on, so you can read the original.

We write in plain Swedish and plain English, because many of our readers are reading in a second language. Plain language means we shorten and explain. It also means detail can be missing, and the authority's own text is always the complete one.

We sometimes use AI tools when drafting and translating. Images on the site are AI-generated illustrations.

We do not invent quotes, people or test questions. We publish nothing that could be mistaken for a real letter from an authority.

Accuracy and responsibility

We do what we can to keep the site accurate and current. Even so, we cannot promise everything is correct at any given moment. Rules change, proposals fall, dates move, and we do not always update the same day.

It is your responsibility to check information that matters to your case directly with the responsible authority — Migrationsverket for citizenship and residence, UHR for the test — before you make any decision based on it.

The site is provided as it is. We take no responsibility for decisions you make based on something you read here, nor for loss arising because the site is wrong or unavailable. This does not limit liability that mandatory Swedish law does not allow to be limited.

If anything here differs from what an authority states, the authority's version is the one that counts. That holds always, even when our text is newer.

If you find a mistake we want to hear about it. Write to [email protected] and we will correct it and show when the page last changed.

Using our texts

The texts and images on the site are ours. You are welcome to read them, save them, share links, and quote short passages if you credit SVI Fokus and link back.

You may not copy the site wholesale, publish our texts as your own, or use them to sell services to people in a migration process. If you want to use something in another way, ask us first.

Changes and applicable law

We may change these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed. If you keep using the site after a change, the new version applies.

How we handle personal data is set out in our privacy policy. In short, we never ask you for details of your case.

Swedish law applies to these terms. Disputes are heard by a Swedish court.

Practise anywhere
