Sverige i fokus

Sverige i fokus is the official study material for the Swedish citizenship test on Swedish society. Here is what it contains, where to find it, and how to use it without wasting time.

What Sverige i fokus is

Sverige i fokus is UHR's official study material for the part of the Swedish citizenship test that covers basic knowledge of Swedish society. It is not a private course, not an app, and not a guide made up by a third party. If you are preparing for the test, this is the material to start with.

The material is available as a PDF and as audio files. That means you can read on screen, print it, listen to chapters and review in different ways. The test itself is in Swedish, so even if you use explanations in another language, you need to become comfortable with the Swedish terms.

Start with UHR's material. Use other resources to understand and review it, not as a replacement for the official source.

What the material covers

Sverige i fokus is built around civics: how Sweden works, which institutions exist, what rights and duties people have, and which historical and cultural contexts often appear in Swedish society.

  • Sweden as a country and its population
  • Democracy, the riksdag, government, municipalities and regions
  • Elections, political parties, media and public debate
  • Law, justice, human rights and discrimination
  • The labour market, personal finance, tax and welfare
  • Modern Swedish history and Sweden's place in the world
  • Religion, secularity, traditions and holidays

The point is not to memorise every sentence. The goal is to understand the concepts well enough to recognise them in a Swedish question, even when the wording is different from the study material.

How to study it efficiently

A good approach is to study in three passes: overview, understanding, then review. Do not start with random practice questions before you know what the official material actually covers. That is how people end up training the wrong thing.

  • Read one chapter quickly to see the topic and headings
  • Read it again slowly and write down 5-10 key Swedish terms
  • Listen to the audio while following the text
  • Explain the chapter's main idea in your strongest language
  • Return to Swedish and practise the concepts
  • Review after a few days, not only on the same evening

When you are ready to move from reading to practice, use our page on tests and practice. It is designed to help you review without pretending private questions are official exam questions.

What Sverige i fokus is not

Sverige i fokus is study material, not a list of all future test questions. UHR publishes examples of how questions may look, but private practice tests online are not automatically checked by UHR or any other authority.

Be careful with sites promising the real question bank, a guaranteed pass, or secret exam questions. No serious provider should claim to have access to the real test.

A good resource helps you understand the material. A bad one sells certainty it cannot have.

If you searched for svergie in fokus

Many people misspell the title when searching quickly. If you typed “svergie in fokus”, “sverige in fokus” or “sverige i focus”, the official title you are looking for is Sverige i fokus. It is the same UHR material used for the Swedish citizenship test.

The search may be misspelled, but the need is real: you want the official source, a clear view of what the test covers, and a way to study without being misled by old or private information.
