- Condition: a completed higher-education programme in Sweden of at least two semesters, in which you have passed all the courses in the programme.
- Apply before your current study permit expires.
- The permit is granted for up to one year after a bachelor's or master's degree, and between one year and 18 months after a doctoral degree.
- You must show support of at least about SEK 10,656 per month (2026 — check the current amount) and hold comprehensive health insurance if your total stay is shorter than one year.
- If you find a job, you then apply for a work permit.
